The mission of the Washington Health Department is to prevent disease, maintain a healthy environment and promote community health for the citizens of the Town of Washington. The Department of Health is responsible for protecting the health of the public including but not limited to: reviewing and approving septic and well installation and repairs, reviewing and approving improvements and additions that may impact the septic and/or well, inspecting restaurants. As you may be aware the Town of Washington Health Department is run by the Town of New Milford Health Department, with Michael Crespan as the acting Director of Health.

Washington Health Department Application for Septic System Plan Approval and Permit to Construct
This document is required by the Washington Health Department when a new septic system is proposed in the Town of Washington. Prior to applying for approval, soils testing must be completed along with a complete septic system design.
