‘Floor Area’ Given New Measure By Zoners

From Susan Tuz of The New Milford Spectrum:
“A new definition of “floor area” will go into effect in the New Milford zoning regulations as of Sept. 1.

Adopted Aug. 11 by the commission, floor area will be determined by using the outside perimeter of the outside walls of a structure. This will brings the zoning regulation’s definition in line with that used by the town’s tax assessor.”

Our firm developed the new definition as part of the Housatonic Riverfront Zone that was recently adopted by the Town of New Milford Zoning Commission.  The old definition was unclear and hard to measure.  The new definition is clear, concise and easy for a layman to interpert.
